As Medical Director of Awakening Recovery Center of Jacksonville, Florida, Jeremy Mirabile, MD, is responsible for the planning, implementing and directing of Awakening’s addiction treatment programs. Board-certified in addiction medicine and family medicine, Dr. Mirabile oversees all patient care. As leader of our multidisciplinary team of addiction specialists, he reinforces the emphasis on patients’ physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health during their recovery from substance abuse. Dr. Mirabile also serves as the Medical Director of Recovery Keys addiction treatment program with offices in St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Mirabile received his medical degree from University of Florida, Gainesville and completed his residency in 2005. Dr. Mirabile saw those struggling with chronic medical or mental health issues and addiction and chose to dedicate his career to helping patients in their recovery.
In 2009, Mirabile earned board certification from the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM), the first medical specialty board in the United States to certify physicians who specialize in the treatment of substance use disorders such as alcohol and drug addiction, and related health conditions.
In 2018, the field of addiction medicine took an important step forward with the American Board of Medical Specialties officially recognized addiction medicine as a subspecialty. Reflecting his commitment to offering patients the highest standard of care for substance use disorders, Dr. Mirabile became a diplomate of the American Board of Preventative Medicine in Addiction Medicine (ABPM-ADM) in 2018.
Dr. Mirabile is a fellow of the American Society of Medicine (FASAM) and the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). He has also been certified by the Medical Review Officer Certification Council. A certified medical review officer is a physician who has demonstrated expertise in evaluating and interpreting drug test results, which are often conducted as part of mandated workspace drug testing programs. Correctly interpreting the results of workspace drug tests is crucial to protecting both employees from false accusations, and employers who need to ensure their employees are performing safely and competently.
Dr. Jeremey Mirabile takes a holistic approach to addiction treatment to heal the body, mind and spirit. Addiction is a treatable disease. With Awakenings, he has created a substance disorder treatment program that addresses all aspects of recovery to help men and women regain their health and restore their lives.
